An interactive digital Mushaf designed to help non-Arabic-speaking Muslims memorize the Quran progressively, moving from individual words to two-word groups and then complete ayahs, with audio and repetition throughout the learning process.
Muslims' Mushaf is a digital Quran project developed for a different organization from the HefzMoyaser projects, with a focused goal of helping non-Arabic-speaking Muslims memorize the Quran through a gradual and accessible learning experience. The project is based on the 604-page Madinah Mushaf, with the Mushaf pages prepared and precise coordinates mapped to both ayahs and individual words, turning each page into an interactive interface rather than a static image. Its core memorization experience is divided into three clear levels. Level one works word by word, allowing the learner to select a word, listen to it, and repeat it without a fixed limit. Level two works with two words at a time, helping the learner gradually connect individual words and build the ayah. Level three moves to the complete ayah, allowing the learner to progress to full-ayah recitation and memorization after practicing the smaller units. The project also includes Tafsir Al-Muyassar with audio, along with Quran search, indexes, and bookmarks that help users save and return to memorization and revision locations. In this way, Muslims' Mushaf focuses on one clear need: providing a practical and interactive experience that helps non-Arabic-speaking learners build their Quran memorization step by step.
Digital Quran Education & Quran Memorization for Non-Arabic Speakers
Interactive web platform for Quran memorization using a progressive word-to-two-word-to-ayah learning approach.
The main challenge was creating a memorization experience suitable for learners who do not speak Arabic, allowing them to break memorization into small units that can be listened to and repeated instead of starting with complete ayahs. The Madinah Mushaf pages also needed to become interactive at both ayah and word level.
The solution uses the 604-page Madinah Mushaf with precise ayah- and word-level coordinate mapping. Three memorization levels were implemented: word by word, two words at a time, and complete ayah, with audio playback and repetition according to the selected level. Tafsir Al-Muyassar with audio, search, indexes, and bookmarks were also integrated.
I handled the full design and development of the project, including the interactive experience, Mushaf page preparation, ayah and word coordinate mapping, the three memorization levels, audio integration, search, indexes, and bookmarks.
To provide a practical digital method that makes Quran memorization more approachable for non-Arabic-speaking Muslims by dividing memorization into small repeatable stages before progressing to larger units.
The content is centered on a clear search intent: Quran memorization for non-Arabic speakers, supported by related concepts such as word-by-word memorization, repetition, audio learning, interactive Quran, and the Madinah Mushaf. The copy is written naturally to serve users first and accurately reflect the project's real functionality rather than repeating keywords or targeting queries unrelated to the product.
The memorization experience was designed to remain responsive during repeated practice, especially when moving between words and ayahs and playing audio. Local storage through IndexedDB helps reduce repeated network requests for content that users access frequently.
The backend was developed with Laravel, with application logic and data access organized within a clear architecture and the framework's built-in mechanisms used to handle application operations and requests.
Muslims' Mushaf was delivered and launched as a free platform focused on helping non-Arabic-speaking learners memorize the Quran. The product provides a complete experience that starts with interactive Mushaf pages and progresses from individual words to two-word groups and then complete ayahs.
The project's value lies in addressing a specific educational need rather than providing only a general digital Mushaf. Quran memorization for non-Arabic speakers is transformed into an interactive learning path that starts with a very small unit—the individual word—then connects words progressively before reaching the complete ayah.
The Muslims' Mushaf needed a simple website that anyone could use without confusion. The result was a comfortable interface and much easier access to the content.
